Rooting your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the first step to completely gain complete control of the smartphone. This is usually followed by installign a custom recovery such as TWRP and then you should be able to gain complete control over your Note 4 andinstall any custom Android ROM of our choice.
Unfortunately rooting will void your phone’s warranty and unlike previous Samsung phones, the Note 4’s warranty cannot be regained by flashing the official android ROM once again due to the Knox. This is a big reason why i wouldn’t recommend rooting your phone unless you have experience with rooting your previous phone.
But for those who are willing to take the risk, you will gain full control of your Note 4 and make the most out of it. For those who are interested in installing a customrecovery tool such as TWRP. Here’s how you can do so.
First of all you will need to root your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and you call follow the following guide to root your Samsung Galaxy Note 4: How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on Android 5.0.1.

Download and install Odin on your PC and also make sure that you have downloadedthe correct TWRP recovery file that matches your Note 4’s model number.
You can now follow the instructions below to install TWRP recovery on your Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
How to Install TWRP Custom Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Note: I will be installing the TWRP custom recovery on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with the model number SM-N910G.
- Step 1: Run Odin.
- Step 2: Put your phone in download mode ( Turn off your phone and Turn it on while pressing the Vol Down+Home+Power button ). Press the Volume Upbutton as instructed.
- Step 3: Connect your phone with your PC using the USB cable provided with the Note 4.
- Step 4: The ID:COM field in Odin should now turn blue. Click on the PDA button and select the openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.0-trltedt.img file.
- Step 5: Click on Start.
That’s it, wait for a few seconds until your phone reboots and a“ Remove!! “ message appears in Odin. You can then remove your Note 4.
You can turn off your phone now and then Press the Volume Up + Home + Power key to boot into the TWRP custom recovery.
